Kyklos Paros Registration as an Association
We are delighted to share some exciting developments from the Kyklos core team. We recently completed drafting the Articles of Association, marking a significant milestone in our journey. As we embark on this inspiring venture in the arts and culture fields, we were delighted to extend an invitation to individuals who share our passion for shaping Kyklos’ future as founding members.
Our inaugural meeting took place on September 17th at the Conservatory Mythodia (the same venue where we celebrated Kyklos Paros’ unofficial launch back in December) with a short retrospective. During this gathering, we also introduced and discussed the key points outlined in the Articles of Association, summarized as follows:
- General Assembly of Members (GA): The GA holds the ultimate decision-making authority.
- Membership Fee: The initial annual membership fee is set at 50 euros.
- Founding Members: To kickstart our journey, a minimum of 20 founding members are required to sign the Articles of Association. These founding members also elect seven individuals for a Temporary Board of Directors. This Board’s responsibilities include initiating the process of registration, applying for a VAT number (ΑΦΜ), opening a bank account, establishing a post box, and setting up committees to oversee finance, exhibition planning, concerts, and cultural events.
- Official Registration: As soon as Kyklos is officially registered at the court of Syros, it will be fully operational.
- Board of Directors: By June 2023, the GA will elect the first seven-member Board of Directors, who will oversee Kyklos for a two-year term.
- Audit Committee: A three-member Audit Committee will also be elected by the GA for a two-year term. Their primary role is to diligently monitor Kyklos’ financial, organizational, and cultural activities and report their findings to both the GA and the Board of Directors.
- Welcoming New Members: Upon Kyklos’ official registration, we will enthusiastically open our doors to welcome new members aboard.
In a heartwarming turnout, 27 dedicated individuals signed the Articles of Association, officially becoming founding members of Kyklos. They also participated in the election of the Temporary Board of Directors. The following individuals (in alphabetical order) will guide Kyklos in its initial stages:
